Awaiting My Departure

Here I rest in good ol' New Jersey awaiting the UPS man. He will hopefully have my insurance card in tow and the latest chapter of my journey can officially begin.

It's always an interesting feeling to leave on a road trip. There's the ever-difficult task of saying goodbye to a loving mother and father, the confused look of a 20 pound dog as you walk out the door, the longing for the adventures that lie ahead, the false sense of hurriedness as you navigate Jersey traffic. But most of all it's the tripidations about the unknown, the unseen, and the unplanned. The things that are out of my control tend to be the things that make or break a trip.

I'm so indescribably excited to have a companion, Camie, this time around. It will be great to have her with me exoeriencing the ups, the downs, the ups, did I mention the ups? of traveling into the unknown. A person to share new sights and new friends with, and new experiences to expand a strong connection developed at a World Heritage Site.

I'll be sleeping in my sleeping bag tonight despite the outrageously comfortable bed my parents have provided me with. Let's call it training for the next four months.
